Paul Lacques was a pillar of the L.A. music community. His departure leaves a hole so many of us have no idea how to fill. Paul was known for his work with bands including but not limited to: country folk rockers I See Hawks in L.A., noir instrumental surf jazzers Double Naught Spy Car, polka rebels Rotondi, world beat road warriors The Bonedaddys, cabaret darlings The Underthings, eco-kids band Earthworm Ensemble, and so much and so many more.
Paul was the kind of guitarist who could step into any style of music and sound blazingly at home. We hope to feature a slice of the breadth of his talents at this show as we feature songs he wrote in his many different musical lives. Tonight we’ll be celebrating as many of Paul’s musical personalities as we can possibly squeeze in.
After a seven year battle, Paul passed away from complications due to cancer on January 17th, 2024. As you can imagine, even with health insurance, costs and consequences of this kind of health crisis can be overwhelming. All proceeds from this event will go to his wife Victoria to help cover outstanding medical bills as she begins to navigate life without her beloved Paul.
